Kent BikeSafe

Kent BikeSafe is run by police motorcyclists from the Kent Police Road Safety Unit at Maidstone and in collaboration with the Fire Bike riders of  Kent Fire and Rescue. The purpose of Kent BikeSafe is to offer full motorcycle licence holders of all ages the opportunity to learn valuable skills and theory, directly from police graded motorcyclists.

Whilst motorcyclists represent just 1% (or less) of traffic on the roads of Kent, they disproportionately represent an unacceptable 25% of fatalities. These facts make motorcyclists one of the most vulnerable groups on Kent roads and through BikeSafe, Kent Police are determined to do something about this.

Kent BikeSafe workshop content

Kent BikeSafe workshops are open to anyone with a full motorcycle licence and an openness to the value of investing in ongoing motorcycle training. Knowing that 70% of motorcycle accidents are avoidable, it is our mission to raise your awareness of simple changes to your riding that could save your life and prevent you becoming a statistic.

Beyond your one day workshop, we will encourage you to take responsibility for your own safety by investing in further post-test advanced motorcycle training with IAM Roadsmart, RoSPA or the DVSA (Enhanced Rider Scheme). Too many motorcyclists fail to recognise the value of advanced motorcycle training and how raising the bar on skills not only saves lives, but results in a more enjoyable ride. If you ride a motorcycle on the beautiful roads of Kent, don’t let ignorance or arrogance be the factor that limits either your skills, safety or enjoyment of being on two wheels. Join us!

Your BikeSafe workshop will include:
