Wednesday March 8th was International Women’s Day [read more] 2023, so to add our voice of support to the importance of equality and the work of an organisation that held it’s first IWD over 100 years ago – we held a ‘women only‘ BikeSafe workshop at Northamptonshire Police HQ, in turn kicking off our Northamptonshire BikeSafe season.
Despite heavy snowfall a couple of days earlier, we were blessed with good weather to enjoy the best of our Northamptonshire roads which took us to our obligatory lunch stop at the infamous Super Sausage Café.
BikeSafe has always recognised the importance and value of providing bespoke workshops for different rider groups and we will continue to do so through out national diary of both public and private workshops. As such, we we will continue to offer ‘women only’ BikeSafe workshops, in recognition of our responsibility to make our motorcycle skills and safety workshops as widely available as possible.
International Women’s Day mission: To shine a spotlight on activity uplifting and inspiring women to pursue goals without bias or barrier.
IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.
