Kent Bikesafe most likely prevented two accidents

I would just like to thank PC Mace of Kent Police and the Kent BikeSafe team for a brilliant day on the 9th September. 

What a great BikeSafe observed ride with PC McNeil through many different types of roads and situations. The objective was to take on some motorcycle safety skills for the day and I can honestly say that PC McNeil managed to pass on excellent knowledge in a manner that sunk in. Please pass this on to your Superintendent, Chief Constable, and Police and Crime Commissioner.

The knowledge and expertise that PC McNeil has left me with has most likely prevented me from being involved in two accidents.  I ride from Ashford to Croydon on a mixture of roads every day, in all weathers, in daylight and darkness, and the BikeSafe workshop has put me in better positions and taught me how to read the road better.

As a tax payer, for once I feel that I have received some real value for money, and by motorcycle accidents not occurring, other tax payers have received the benefit as well. What’s more I have reduced the amount of petrol I consume by being a smoother rider, so there’s an environmental benefit to the workshop as well.

PC Mace and his BikeSafe team (especially PC McNeil) are a credit to the Police, as well as to themselves, and should be very proud that by giving their time they are making a real difference to the lives of the people of Kent and beyond. Now I can’t guarantee I won’t be involved in an accident at some point but my risks have been significantly reduced. Keep up the great work Kent BikeSafe and many thanks.
