North Yorkshire BikeSafe joined by Chief Constable Winward
North Yorkshire BikeSafe is key to giving riders crucial additional skills, knowledge, and confidence
North Yorkshire Police want to keep the people on our roads safe
“North Yorkshire Police want to keep the people on our roads safe. We have a beautiful county that attracts many motorists, and in particular motorcyclists. BikeSafe is an excellent scheme that helps motorcyclist to improve their skills and knowledge with the ultimate aim of making riding a safer experience. I wanted to see first-hand how the scheme works following the success of our North Yorkshire officers who were Nationally recognised for their work. It was a privilege to join Sergeant Lord, North Yorkshire BikeSafe coordinator, and the team of officers and volunteers who deliver the course and to meet and spend time with the attendees and learn from their experiences. It was an excellent day that I would recommend to all motorcyclists and am grateful for the work of our officers, staff and volunteers.” – Chief Constable Winward, North Yorkshire Police.
Had a great day with North Yorkshire Police BikeSafe team yesterday
“Had a great day with North Yorkshire Police BikeSafe team yesterday. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere but with lots of useful information. The observed ride was such a learning experience, a nice route and involved a café stop . The Chief Constable happened to be sitting in on the morning session and it was good to be able to discuss topics with her. I highly recommend the course ” – Lee Jackson, attended North Yorkshire BikeSafe 8th Oct 2023.
His positioning was good and his attitude was exactly right
“Lee had a good ride out today. There were a few issues that we discussed such as his life saver checks and mirror usage. His overtake was a little poorly planned and as such his speed increased more than it should. Lee did however take on board feedback from the first stop and his riding became much better. His positioning was good and his attitude was exactly right. It was a safe and progressive ride which I thoroughly enjoyed.” – Sgt. Lord, North Yorkshire BikeSafe Coordinator.
